Improved ability to press and play through pressing lines. Consistent use of up, back, and through.
The game starts with 3 grids. The game is 6 Blues (attackers) and 2 Blacks (defenders). The defenders hold a bib/pinnie (i.e. don’t put it on). The blue wide players are free and can move up and down the outside of the 3 grids (as shown). The black players are also free and can defend in each grid. The objective is to progress the ball from the furthest north player to the furthest south player (and vice-versa). The game can have rules for competition: • The defenders stay in for a set number of minutes and each progression from north to south (and vice-versa) is a point scored for the attackers. After the number of minutes, the defenders are swapped out. Defending pair who lose the most points lose the competition. • Each time a defender wins the ball or forces the ball out of the grid, they drop their bib/pinnie, attacker who gives the ball away picks it up and becomes the defender, with the defender taking their place. The game does not stop while this happens so becomes more transitional.
