Improved ability to retain the ball. Improved ability in attacking transitions to find a player facing forward so they can play a penetrating pass.
The game starts with 4 attackers, 2 defenders, and 1 neutral. Flex the numbers to suit. The 4 attackers need to retain possession of the ball and can use the neutral to make the game 5v2. When the defenders cleanly win the ball, they can score in the mini goals. The neutral player helps the team in possession and can score for the defending team. Important Point 1: When the defenders win the ball, the desire will be to turn and score. However, it is extremely important that they try to find a teammate who is facing forward so they can score or find the free player (teammate or neutral) who can score. Important Point 2: When a team gives the ball away, they must counter immediately with players away from the ball covering passing lanes.
