4v2 - Transition Pairs

Attackers • Wait till the last moment before executing a pass, make the decision based on changes in the situation. • Create the best angle to support the player on the ball. • Select the correct pass, using disguise. Defenders • Press Aggressively, but with intent. Wait for a pass back or a loose touch. • First Defender presses, and shows the player on the ball one way to make the pass predictable. • Other defender provides cover & immediately presses the pass. Attacking Transition • Communicate! Defenders are entering the square so be aware. Defensive Transitions • Coordinate the press, don’t both sprint to the ball. Communicate.
