To develop players’ ability to break lines and retain possession using one-touch combination play through central neutral players.
• Create a square playing area. • Position 4 players on each side (2 teams: 4v4). • 2 neutral players operate centrally (wear different colours or bibs). • The possession team should be on the outside of the grid attempt to retain possession. • The 2 central neutrals support the team in possession and must play one-touch. • Play focuses on combinations and quick decision-making, especially third man runs or bounce passes via the neutrals. • If possession is lost, teams counter-press immediately to regain the ball. • The possession team tries to make exit passes in transition so they can gain a structure on the outside of the square.
