7v6 - Wave Attack

Develop combination play to break down an organised defensive block using width, quick switches, and coordinated forward runs. Teach attackers to recognise wide space and link with wide players under pressure.

• Timing of third-man runs from central players into the box • Combination play to move defenders before switching wide • Wide players should scan early and deliver with accuracy • Recognise when to use the striker as a set player to bounce • Movement off the ball must create overloads and attacking angles • Maintain compactness in the centre to protect against central penetration • Communicate triggers to release full-back if ball goes wide • Delay and block crosses or shot opportunities early • Attackers must be alert to second balls and rebounds • Defenders must recover quickly when triggered to press in wide areas
