To improve players' ability to maintain possession, counter-press effectively, and create scoring opportunities during sustained attacks.
• Play in a formation to suit the level of football you are coaching. • All players must start in one half of the pitch, with the team attacking the goal beginning the game. In the diagram, this is the Blue team. • The attacking team starts the game and must try to score. • If the defending team wins the ball at any point, the attacking team must counter-press immediately and attempt to win the ball back. • Upon a turnover of possession, the defending team must try to play the ball into the other half (the space) for a player to run onto the ball. • If a player runs through then they have a set number of seconds (7) to score. • Normal game rules apply (corners, goal kicks, throw/kick in's, and offside (if applicable)).
