To develop the defensive unit's ability to stay compact, protect central spaces, and manage transitions while coordinating pressing.
Defensive Compactness: • Encourage players to maintain tight distances between lines, closing down central spaces to prevent direct play. Wide Area Management: • Teach players when to engage in wide areas and when to remain compact to avoid being stretched. Pressing Triggers: • Identify and act on pressing cues like backward passes or poor control by the opposing team. Quick Transitions: • Upon winning the ball, encourage the Black team to transition quickly and effectively to exploit spaces left by the pressing team.
