Develop players’ ability to receive under pressure with their back to goal, protect possession, and create quick attacking actions in tight spaces
• The coach begins each phase by passing the ball into the attacking pair (blue), who receive with their back to goal • The attacking pair must try to score in any of the three mini goals at the top of the area • The defending pair (green) press to win the ball — if successful, they counter quickly to score in the mini goals on the dotted line • As soon as the ball goes out of play or a goal is scored, the next group rotates in • The previous attacking team becomes the next defenders • Progression: Upon the coach’s pass, the four players beside the coach (2 blue, 2 green) may support the phase. Attacking players can create overloads or rotation patterns, while defenders must react quickly to recovering shape • Sessions should focus on fast repetition and intensity — keep rotations moving
