Improved ability to press and play through pressing lines. Consistent use of up, back, and through.
• Possession with a purpose is key. • Think forward, look forward, play forward. • Move the ball, minimise touches. • Press Aggressively, but with intent. Wait for a pass back or a loose touch. • First Defender presses, and shows the player on the ball one way to make the pass predictable. • Player who wins the ball is the most vulnerable. They will be pressed. Immediately so release the ball quickly. • Change of attitude to aggressive defence. • If the game is transitional then can the second defender take advantage of the turnover?
