To develop players’ ability to execute tight area combinations, scan and protect the ball in pressure scenarios, and build fluidity between passing, movement, and awareness.
• The exercise begins with Player A playing a pass into Player B. • Player B flicks around the corner using the outside of the foot to spin away from the mannequin and link with Player C to their right (as they are facing the mannequin). • A quick 1-2 combination follows between Player B and Player C. • Once Player B receives the return pass, they enter the mannequin area and must turn and protect the ball, simulating pressure. • Player B then plays out to their left (as they are facing the mannequin), following their pass to take the new position (progression loop: A → B → C). • Meanwhile, Player C (green in the example) dribbles through the cones and rejoins the line at the beginning. • All stations start at the same time. • Player C receives two passes in the same phase so Player B must only pass to Player C when this player is free. • This creates a continuous loop of movement and link-up combinations through the three roles. • The ball must always be played left at the mannequin, encouraging players to adjust body shape and scan early.
