Develop players' understanding of how and when to deliver different types of crosses from wide areas and finish in realistic zones.
• The pitch is divided into three zones: ◦ Central build-up zone (green) ◦ Wide yellow zone (low-driven cross area) ◦ Wide red zone (pull-backs or lofted crosses) • Teams keep possession in the central zone. After 4 passes, they can progress into a wide zone using a yellow neutral player (floater who operates across both halves). • Once a wide zone is accessed: ◦ Yellow zone = Cross must be low/driven into the yellow-marked mini-goal. ◦ Red zone = Cross must be high or a cut-back into the red-marked mini-goal (simulating a penalty spot finish). ◦ Defenders (central) aim to intercept or win the ball. If they regain possession, they dribble over the end line to score a point. • The green line before the red zone acts as an offside line, attacking players must time their movement. • Rotate attackers, defenders, and floaters regularly. Progressions: • Add active pressure in the wide zones.
