To develop ball control, passing accuracy, spatial awareness, and movement off the ball in a structured possession-based exercise.
• Create a square grid approximately 15x15 yards. • Place 3 cones at each corner of the square (as shown in the diagram). • Organise players into groups of 4 with 1 ball per group. • Keep extra balls nearby to maintain the flow of the exercise in case of mistakes. • Variation 1: Player A starts with the ball. Player B moves from the furthest cone to receive the ball from Player A. • Player B should open up their hips and shoulders, taking their first touch into space, and pass to the next player (Player C). • The sequence repeats with the next player (e.g., Player C passes to Player D). • Introduce a second ball for added difficulty if there are enough players. • Variation 2: Place two players in the middle of the square. • Player A starts with the ball, while Player B creates space by moving away from their cone. • Player A plays the ball to Player B, who executes a 1-2 combination with Player C. • The sequence continues in a structured rotation. • Introduce a second ball to increase intensity and challenge.
