Passing & Receiving • Firm, accurate passes into the front foot • Use back foot to open up on return passes • Play around pressure with one or two touches max Movement Timing • First support pass should arrive just as the player receives • Players must time their runs to not arrive too early or too late • Check shoulders before and after passing to scan space Body Shape & Awareness • Angle body to receive and play forward • Be prepared to adjust based on defender pressure or poor pass • Play the return pass into the runner’s path Communication • Verbal and non-verbal cues to support timing • Eye contact or gesture to initiate a movement or combination • Encourage constant scanning and clarity between players
