Passing Detail • Weight and angle of the pass must allow for quick rhythm • First-touch layoff should be into the runner’s path • Encourage one-touch or two-touch maximum to maintain tempo Body Position and Scanning • Players should scan often, especially when facing away from the next action • Turn and open out on the back foot where possible • Use shoulder checks to anticipate pressure or passing lanes Rotation and Timing • Encourage realistic movement patterns • Players must time their runs, don’t arrive too early at the next point • Sharp rotation encourages players to stay involved and focused Ball Mastery Under Pressure • The dribble phase should be performed at speed, simulating escaping from pressure • Players must keep their head up while dribbling to identify the next pass
