To develop combination play in the final third, movement off the ball, and finishing.
Phase 1: Combination Play and Finishing • A plays to B, who drops back from an offside position to set up a pass into space for A to run onto. • A dribbles closer to the box and finishes with a shot on goal. Phase 2: Cross and Finish • As soon as B sets the ball back to A, this triggers C to play to D. • D moves short to receive the ball and spins to create a passing lane. • Meanwhile, E adjusts their position to lose their width, making a run toward the back post, and B attacks the front post. • D delivers a cross into the box for both B and E to finish. Switch Sides: • After completing the sequence, repeat the exercise on the opposite side of the pitch, ensuring players practice shooting and crossing from both flanks.
