One-Two and Finish

To develop combination play in the final third, movement off the ball, and finishing.

Timing and Angles: • Ensure players time their runs effectively to stay onside and arrive at the ball at the optimal moment. • Encourage players to create angles for passes and maintain good spacing. Technical Quality: • Focus on the precision of passes, weight of through balls, and quality of the cross. • Emphasize controlled finishes, aiming for accuracy over power. Off-Ball Movement: • Teach attackers to adjust their runs based on the ball carrier’s movement and positioning. • Encourage dynamic runs to the near and far post to stretch the defence. Communication: • Players should use verbal and non-verbal cues to coordinate movements and anticipate passes.
