Create flexibility in training by using one pitch setup to run four different game-based formats. Each game highlights different aspects of attacking and defending, with a focus on combination play, movement, decision-making, and transition.
You’ll run four different conditioned games within the same pitch layout. Each game can be played on rotation (e.g. 6–10 minutes per game). Game 1 – End Zone Game • Teams score by dribbling or passing into the end zone • Encourages breaking lines and timing runs Game 2 – 4 Gates Game • Score by dribbling through one of four wide cone gates • Ideal for encouraging width, 1v1 actions, and switching play Game 3 – Gates or Goals • Players choose whether to score in mini-goals or dribble through a gate • Adds decision-making layer under pressure Game 4 – Full Pitch Game • Standard SSG with full goals • Normal game rules apply, allowing players to apply principles learned in Games 1–3 • Coaching moments can focus on any of the previous areas (breaking lines, switching, compact defending)
