To improve players’ ability to compete in 1v1 situations by focusing on dribbling, decision-making, and quick transitions while maintaining awareness of space and defensive pressure.
Setup: • Divide the pitch into four equal squares. Place one player from each team in each square. • Use corner players as neutral "bounce" players. Four mini-goals are positioned in each corner of the grid. Execution: • Two teams compete, but players compete 1v1 in their designated square and cannot leave the square. • Set a number of passes a team must make in order to then score in any mini goal. • Teams can use the corner bounce players to combine and progress the ball. • When a team concedes a goal, they step off, and a new team enters immediately to replace them. • The new team starts with the ball at the corner where the goal was scored. Progression: • Remove the square boundaries to allow players more freedom to roam, while retaining their shape and positive approach to 1v1 scenarios.
