To coordinate pressing, regain possession, and transition effectively into attack.
To coordinate pressing, regain possession, and transition effectively into attack.
Setup: - Divide the pitch into 2 equal zones. - Use small goals at the end of each zone. - Split players into two teams in each zone: one team starts as the attackers, and the other as defenders. - Yellow players are in the diagram to show the intended transition passes that would happen in a game. These players are not used in the game. Starting Play: - One team start with the ball and aim to complete 4 passes within their team to score a point. - If the Reds win the ball, they transition to attack immediately and can score by passing the ball into their goals. - This replicates a quick forward pass in a game scenario. Progressions: - Progression 1: Allow the Blues to score in their small goals after completing 4 passes. This adds attacking pressure & encourages creativity. - Progression 2: Let the Reds start with the ball and introduce a rule that they can score after 4 passes, flipping the focus of transitions.
