To develop attackers’ ability to combine using ‘up-back-through’ passing patterns, time third-man runs, and execute accurate finishes on goal under minimal pressure.
• Use the final third with two full-size goals and goalkeepers. • Divide players into two mirrored circuits on either side of the pitch. • Place mannequins to simulate passive defenders. • Assign 5+ players per side (including one in each zone of the combination). • Player A starts with the ball and passes into Player B. • Player B sets the ball back (1-touch or controlled) to Player A, who moves to support the ball. • Player A then plays a punched pass into Player C. • Player A then makes a looping run around players B and C as shown. • Player C sets for Player B, who then sets for the running Player A. • Player A finishes on goal with minimal touches. • Players follow their passes and rotate roles (A to B, B to C, etc). • Repeat on opposite side to mirror combinations.
