To develop combination play in the attacking third, improve movement off the ball, and practice finishing from crosses under game-like conditions.
Combination Play + Cross and Finish • Player 1 plays to 2, who drops back to set up a pass into space for Player 3 to run onto. • This triggers a forward run from Player 4. • Player 3 plays Player 4, who crosses for Players 2 and 5, dribbles closer to the box and finishes with a shot on goal. Switch Sides: • After completing the sequence, repeat the exercise on the opposite side of the pitch, ensuring players practice shooting and crossing from both flanks. Progression: • Add a defender (Red) to defend the cross. Rotate the defender every 2 turns.
